We will engage with the question, “How can we design fun moving toys that other kids can build?” We will investigate the design of different moving toys to build our own toys. We will learn how different forces can cause toys to move in different ways. The class will benefit from sharing our cultural and family knowledge and experiences with toys. Discuss the following questions together at home. Take notes on the back of this paper or draw a picture to remember what you talked about. Come back to class ready to share what you talked about. 1. What was your favorite toy as a child? Why? 2. If you are from a different part of the United States or the world, did you play with toys that are different from toys today? Can you describe the differences or similarities? 3. Did you ever try to make your own toy? What did you make? Why did you make it? 4. Do you have any experiences or stories to tell about toys that move? We would love to have you come in as a guest speaker and share your experience with the class! ___ Yes, I would like to come to talk to the class.
