visir_img_dark - Dark recipe

esorex visir_img_dark [OPTIONS] FILE.sof

This recipe computes the dark.

The files listed in the Set Of Frames (sof-file) must be tagged either VISIR-dark-image-raw-file.fits IM_CAL_DARK or VISIR-dark-spectro-raw-file.fits SPEC_CAL_DARK

The corresponding four products will each have a FITS card ´HIERARCH ESO PRO CATG´ with values (for imaging) IMG_DARK_AVG IMG_DARK_HOT IMG_DARK_COLD IMG_DARK_DEV
or (for spectroscopy) SPEC_DARK_AVG SPEC_DARK_HOT SPEC_DARK_COLD SPEC_DARK_DEV

Rejected left right bottom and top border (pixel) (str; default: ´50 50 50 50´). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is visir.visir_img_dark.rej_bord [default = 50 50 50 50].
Hot pixel map threshold (float; default: 10.0). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is visir.visir_img_dark.hot_threshold [default = 10.0].
Cold pixel map threshold (float; default: 6.0). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is visir.visir_img_dark.cold_threshold [default = 6.0].
Deviant pixel map threshold (float; default: 5.0). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is visir.visir_img_dark.dev_threshold [default = 5.0].
Number of samples for Read-Out Noise (RON) computation (int; default: 100). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is visir.visir_img_dark.nsamples [default = 100].
Half size of the window for Read-Out Noise (RON) computation (int; default: 2). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is visir.visir_img_dark.hsize [default = 2].

Note that it is possible to create a configuration file containing these options, along with suitable default values. Please refer to the details provided by the 'esorex --help' command.

The full documentation for the visir pipeline can be downloaded as a PDF file using the following URL:

ftp://ftp.eso.org/pub/dfs/pipelines/visir/visir-pipeline-manual-1.4.pdf

An overview over the existing ESO pipelines can be found on the web page https://www.eso.org/sci/software/pipelines/.

Basic documentation about the EsoRex program can be found at the esorex (1) man page.

It is possible to call the pipelines from python using the python-cpl package. See https://packages.python.org/python-cpl/index.html for further information.
