interference - decaying sinusoidal waves

interference [-display host:display.screen] [-visual visual] [-window] [-root] [-count number] [-gridsize number] [-delay number] [-speed number] [-radius number] [-ncolors number] [-color-shift number] [-hue number] [-no-db] [-fps]

Another color-field hack, this one works by computing decaying sinusoidal waves, and allowing them to interfere with each other as their origins move.

Specify which visual to use. Legal values are the name of a visual class, or the id number (decimal or hex) of a specific visual.
Draw on a newly-created window. This is the default.
Draw on the root window.
Number of Waves. 0 - 20. Default: 3.
Magnification. 1 - 20. Default: 2.
Per-frame delay, in microseconds. Default: 30000 (0.03 seconds.).
Wave Speed. 1 - 100. Default: 30.
Wave Size. 50 - 1500. Default: 800.
Number of Colors. Default: 192.
Color Contrast. 0 - 100. Default: 60.
Hue of the base color (0-360, as in HSV space.) Default 0, meaning random.
Whether to double buffer.
Display the current frame rate and CPU load.

to get the name of a resource file that overrides the global resources stored in the RESOURCE_MANAGER property.
