ziomon_util - monitoring tool for fcp host adapters.

ziomon_util [-h] [-v] [-V] [-Q <msgq_path> -q <msgq_id> -m <msg_id>] [-s n] [-i n] -d n -a <n> -l <lun>

ziomon_util monitors various sysfs attributes for a configurable duration. Output can be written to stdout or alternatively sent to a message queue in binary format.

This command is not intended to be run on its own - rather use the ziomon command.

Print help information, then exit.

Print version information, then exit.

Be verbose.

Number of the adapter to monitor. That is, /sys/class/scsi_host/host<n> must exist.

watch I/O error count of specified LUN. Specify each LUN separately in h:b:t:l format. That is, /sys/bus/scsi/devices/h:b:t:l/ioerr_cnt must exist.

Time to elapse between samples in seconds.

Time to elapse between sending data in seconds. The samples will be aggregated over this period. Defaults to the duration. The interval lengh must be a multiple of the sample length.

Overall monitoring duration in seconds. The duration must be a multiple of the interval length.

Name for the message queue to use. Note that the usage of a message queue for the output requires that all of parameters -Q, -q and -m are specified.

Monitor adapter 1 and the LUN at 0:0:1:2057 for 5 minutes, sample every 4 seconds and send the data every 20 seconds to a message queue. The message queue is named /tmp/ziomon.23943, the id is 95 and the the messages should carry the id 17:

ziomon_util -s 4 -i 20 -d 300 -Q /tmp/ziomon.23943 -q 95 -m 17 -a 1 -l 0:0:1:2057 -L 18
